Use the official live display
EWR publishes current checkpoint waits on the airport site. Because the number changes minute by minute, AirportBoard links to the source rather than caching a stale “live” number.
What the wait does not include
The checkpoint number excludes parking, terminal walking, check-in, bag drop and airline boarding cutoffs. Use it as an operational check, not your full arrival-time plan.
Terminal matters
EWR has multiple checkpoints across A, B and C. Confirm the departure terminal before interpreting the displayed wait.
Official sources
AirportBoard separates editorial planning from live operational decisions. Re-check airport and airline information on travel day.
