Request assistance before travel
Heathrow recommends telling the airline, tour operator or travel agent about the assistance you need as soon as possible or at least 48 hours before the flight. The airline passes the request to Heathrow’s assistance team.
Assistance areas across terminals
Heathrow lists assistance areas before and after security and in arrivals. Connecting passengers who have booked assistance can be met from the aircraft and escorted onward.
Hidden disabilities
Heathrow participates in the Sunflower Lanyard scheme. Lanyards are available free from assistance desks and signal that a traveler may need additional time or support.
Accessible terminal connections
Heathrow says routes between terminals are step-free, with lifts, ramps and moving walkways. A connection can still take time, so assistance should be built into the transfer plan rather than added at the last minute.
